HKSO
The Hong Kong String Orchestra (HKSO), led by Artistic Director Yao Jue SBS, BBS, JP., has achieved international acclaim for its unique blend of Eastern and Western influences. Over 10 years, HKSO has nurtured young talent, performed globally in 13 countries and 40 cities, and collaborated with renowned musicians like Tan Dun and Sarah Chang. Notable achievements include a Guinness World Record for the largest string ensemble and performances at major festivals, including the John F. Kennedy Center and the Shanghai Arts Festival.
Yao Jue
Yao Jue, a graduate of Juilliard, the San Francisco Conservatory, and the Shanghai Conservatory, has performed globally at prestigious venues like Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and Tchaikovsky Hall. Her acclaimed career spans Asia, Europe, and the U.S., highlighted by awards like the Bronze Bauhinia Star (2017) and University Fellowships from Hong Kong Polytechnic University (2015) and Baptist University (2023). In 1993, she debuted at Carnegie Hall to a full-house audience. She plays a 1713 Stradivarius violin.
